Joel Franz Rosell

A writer, illustrator, literary critic, teacher and journalist, Rosell has lived in Cuba, Brazil, Denmark, Argentina, Spain and France, countries where he has written numerous books for children. Some of his books have been adapted for the TV, radio, comics, theatre and oral narration, mainly in his country of origin. He has also published critical pieces and essays in European, American and Asian journals and magazines. He has won several prizes, including The White Ravens (International Youth Library, Germany) in 1996 and 2005, the La Rosa Blanca Award (Cuban Writers and Artists Union, six times between 1995 and 2005) and the City of Cherbourg Award (France, 2001).
